I was really good at copying :-)

Albin didn’t get any eczema after eating a pancake so I have been giving him eggs a couple of times now, both raw and cooked. I will continue to check him every morning and evening for the rest of the week and if nothing happens I now know that he will be able to eat eggs too. Well milk, butter and wheat flour too since that is what pancakes contain. Eggs actually contains lots of vitamines and some fat so this will do him good.

It is still above 0C (32F) outside and they are warning us about a snow storm tomorrow, well they warn us about it in the newspapers but according to the weather sites we’ll get rain here, mixed with some snow too for an hour or so. The steady wind won’t be that bad but the gusts will be really hard but since the winds comes from south it will mostly hit my neighbors cottage but not mine. Last time they warned us about a storm it never became anything, not even those living on the plains noticed especially much wind so who knows what it will be like tomorrow.

It does blow rather hard now though, I have a great draft in my chimney and no troubles with non burning firelogs 🙂 I’m glad my wood stove is big because I have plenty of pots on it now, might as well do all cooking at once since I have a fire burning in it 🙂

A double exposure but still rather nice.

This one I had to cut because the film hadn’t advanced as it should.

The days have been rather uneventful but thankfully not slow. The evenings go much faster though 🙂 I had to buy flowers for a funeral yesterday, I’m not going to it because it is rather far away but I still wanted to send some flowers. The florist and I decided it should have spring flowers and especially tulips. I know since my days as a garden center owner that he is a really good florist and that is not an easy thing to be. I certainly had no gift for it 🙂 I was however rather good at copying the first owners (of the garden center I had) work 🙂 So when I had old flowers I couldn’t sell, they showed me how I could do a beautiful bouquet and then I could do something very similar when someone ordered something 🙂

It is time for me to get something to eat too, the dogs and cats ate half an hour ago. Perhaps I should make myself a hot sandwich or two, the oven is still free in the strove 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Hi Christer,
It’s good to read that more foods have been added to Albin’s diet. Especially when pancakes can be crafted from those foods. Pancakes are a good thing. 🙂

I love the photo of the grass mounds. It’s so stark and wintry.

Today is hazy sunny and warmer than it has been. It’s almost normal up to normal winter temperatures. The dogs have been happy to be outside at least and I haven’t frozen my fandangos waiting out there for them to do their thing. Tomorrow will be unseasonably warm. It’s crazy.

    Enjoy the day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

It feels rather nice to be able to add more things to the edible list 🙂 and I agree pancakes are a very good thing, always 🙂

I tried that grass from different angles because I tried to catch the frost on it but I really didn’t get it in the photo. Still I do like it.

I wouldn’t mind unseasonably warm weather now but they have at least changed the predictions for the weekend. First they said we would get the same temperature as last Thursday, -2,2F now it’s more like it has been till now, cold at nights but fairly warm during the days 🙂

      Have a great day!

  2. Hi Christer! Good that Albin can tolerate eggs! I like to give mine an egg each once a week, but last time I did that Hunter got a loose stomach. But of course that was when his skin thing was flaring along with the infection in his ears so it could have been anything. I will re-introduce at some point. Its all about trial and error and omittance! 🙂

Lucky you that you got to work in a garden/flower place. It doesn’t matter if you think you didn’t work out well there, just the opportunity of being surrounded by flowers. That’s my dream job! Or a bookstore….

We had snow yesterday. Lots and lots of “hollywood” snow as I call it. Giant flakes and really fluffy. Was very pretty. Back to cold for a bit and then they say we are going to -5 for the weekend!! I will jump for joy if that happens!

    1. Hi Dianna!

It looks oike anything chicken might work so this Friday I’ll buy chicken liver, something I like a lot myself 🙂
Lots of dogs get loose stomachs from eggs I’ve heard but none of the dogs living with me has had any problems though.

It was the funniest work years I’ve had but I did get tired of never getting anything paid 🙂 That’s often the case if one is self-employed. I didn’t mind the long working days but it is stressing to always be a bit unsure if there’s enough money to buy food too 🙂 The dosg and cats always got what they needed and I had friends who invited me for dinner unusually often 🙂 🙂 🙂 Bookstore would be fun too and probably just as bad economically 🙂

It has snowed here all day but it is so warm that it has melted away fast. The storm did arrive byt it isn’t as bad here as they had predicted. It went south of us instead butit is still blowing insanely here 🙂 It will be colder here during the weekend and a bit after too.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

    1. Hi Joyce!

I have started to do so now too and he really likes it. The other dogs get some too 🙂

That was what I changed to when I first noticed he had problems and then it exploded. So it must be the pork and perhaps the beef he cxan’t eat. I’ll know better after trying beef again.

We’re having a storm here right now but the worst passed south of us, still it blows insanely and we’ve had snow all day but it is so warm that all has melted away already.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  5. Christer,
I’m glad you can extend Albin’s diet. Perhaps he becomes less allergic as he grows older. It happens with kids, why not dogs?

We had a huge rainstorm with a terrific wind. The rain managed to beat down and dissolve the snow. In the afternoon, the wind was gone. I rather like the heavier wind.

Gracie eats both dry and canned dog food. She has a can a day, and I fill her dry food dish when it empties. Sometimes it is in one day while other times it is a couple. I put in two cups of the dry. She also gets a few biscuits in the mornings.

The cold will be back. I’m sorry about that!

    Have a great day!

    1. Hi Kat!

It makes life easier but I think I must take it easy with raw eggs, I gave him one this morning and that made his stomach work 🙂 Boiled eggs are no problems though and this weekend he’ll get some chicken liver. I’ll have that too since I do like chicken liver.

I have a complicated relation to the wind 🙂 It never seems to blow when I want it hot summer days but quite often when I don’t want it on cold winter days 🙂 Few sounds beat the roaring sound of a good storm though 🙂

Joyce had 66F yesterday, I feel a bit jealous 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
