It’s turning.

No it isn't green here again :-) I won't be able to show new photos until tomorrow.

Albin seems to be back to his old self again, something he wasn’t this morning. He rushed out from the garage when I came home to greet me, ran around like crazy and chewed just a little to much on my hands 🙂 He then started to complain loudly when the food wasn’t ready and demanded more when he had finished what he had gotten. He got even more loud when I didn’t allow him to go through the other dogs food bowls 🙂 This morning he was quiet and couldn’t care less about eating.

I did manage to make him eat anyway and it seems to have helped. I drove to the pharmacy on my long lunch break (I worked in the neighbor factory today so I take all breaks at the same time giving me plenty of time to do errands if I need to) and it is heavy stuff he has gotten. The one to calm down his stomach is probably something I could use for my rheumatism but it is also for really bad stomachs. He also got an ointment with both cortisone and antibiotics in it.

It was very easy to give him his pills but I guess it was because he isn’t used to be given pills. Soon enough he’ll learn how to fight against it 🙂 Life feels so much better now when he’s getting back to normal again. Still we don’t know if he isn’t allergic to chicken or rice but today everything is alright 🙂 By the way, he also tried to jump up on the kitchen table to get the cat food and at the same time he knocked down a full water pitcher 🙂 I didn’t mind today, I was glad he had the energy and tried 🙂

The breeders have a fb page so all of us who got a puppy from them are in contact with each other but none had, as far as I know, said anything about food allergies. I wrote about it and it turns out several have problems. It is quite common with Amstaff’s so I’m not surprised especially since their father has some problems too. So I hope we all can figure out what foods they are allergic to because if we only know it will be easy to handle. The little monster is at the moment deep asleep beside the radiator here in the kitchen. I can’t give the cats more food than they eat at the moment, if anything is left I’ll have to hide their bowl until they get hungry again, life is wonderful 🙂

It is time for me to get something to eat too, I only had two sandwiches for lunch since I had to go to the pharmacy. It’s not as if I would suffer if I didn’t get any food, my body contains lots of energy 🙂 but I do like a little something in the evening 🙂

  1. Hi Christer,
I’m glad Albin is back to normal.
I would not have been as happy about the spilled water pitcher or dog on the table.

Piki Dog is a huge food vacuum, too. He’s not allergic to anything so far but he’s a bottomless pit when it comes to eating. Rocky had to learn to scarf his food in a hurry just to keep Piki Dog from eating it after finishing his.
I think Piki Dog needs to have his total daily food ration broken up into more frequent meals than the two he gets. His metabolism runs pretty fast so the fuel might be running out faster than a normal dog. Maybe Albin is like that, too. They’re little high performance engine dogs. 🙂

Yesterday I picked up walnuts off the lawn. The bottom fourth of the side lawn was totally covered in nuts as was a biggish patch near the house. I got all the ones on the side lawn but left the ones near the house and the few new ones that had fallen in the back of the house. I was too sore to finish it. About an hour after I stopped, the lawn guys came and cleaned nuts and leaves all away. My lawn looks like a vacuumed rug. It was probably the only positive thing that happened yesterday.

Today is in the high 40’s Fahrenheit and mostly sunny. I might throw down some more grass seed and plant some spring bulbs.

    Enjoy the day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

He is at the moment complaining about not getting any food and it is still over an hour until he will get any 🙂 If I hadn’t had to work I would have given them food three times a day I think so he just has to adapt to the normal hours 🙂 I do like that he does complain though because he just didn’t care when he was as most sick.

It is even hard for me to imagine how it looks with the ground covered with so many nuts 🙂 Too bad the guys didn’t show up a bit earlier 🙂

Too much snow to do anything here really even if it is much less than it is where the vet lives. I have a workfriend there and he said they had gotten inches with snow during that weekend 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

      1. It was okay. I needed to do something physical to take my mind off current events. Besides, if I had left all the nuts for the lawn guys, they would have had to spend 2 hours or more and I would have had to spend a couple of hundred dollars to pay them for it.
Imagine hundreds of green tennis balls covering every square inch of four grass tennis courts and you’ve pretty much got the picture. 🙂
You’ve probably got about 10 years before you see a walnut on your little guy. It’ll be another 20 years beyond that before you’ll need to buy a stable fork to pick the big crop up out of the grass and by then it might be someone else’s job. Pretty sure it will be for me. 🙂 🙂 🙂

      2. The extra couple of hundred dollars made me see it different 🙂

I will be happy if I at least will see a few green ones on my lawn 🙂 but first it needs to survive a normal winter here if it ever will happen again 🙂

You are right, when the times comes to get that many nuts I will most likely have passed on to ther pastures 🙂

  2. Hi Christer! I am so happy to hear Albin is feeling much better! I am sure the little monster will be right as rain in no time! 🙂 Always a challenge to figure out what is bothering them. They don’t have a voice per se so they can’t tell us. Karma is super sensitive and its a fine tricky line with her.

Yesterday we broke a weather record! It reached 19 degrees here. Ridiculous! Today is just as lovely and I think we are around 14. I just can’t believe this weather. We are usually cold and snow! 🙂

You are like my husband. He likes a “lunch” in the evening….. 🙂

I hope your Friday went well and that all beasts were happily fed and content! 🙂

    1. or Hi Dianna!

It is so nice to have him back to normal 🙂 He is at the moment complaining about me not giving him any food and it is still over an hour before he will get any 🙂

I wouldn’t mind 19 or 14, here it’s just below 0 but it will get a bit colder during the night. The predictions for next week says warm with rain. I’m not so sure that is any better 🙂

I’m happy with a cheese sandwich or two in the evening, many here have their dinners around 6 or 7 pm but that is a bit too much for me.

      So far so good 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  3. Christer,
I’m so glad Albin is getting back to normal. He is such a scamp trying to get the cat food. Gracie too would eat the cat food if I gave her a chance. I keep it up in my room behind a gate.

Your flower pictures remind me of what we are losing. Gone will be the colors which make summer so lovely. We’ll be stuck with empty, stark trees.

Today was cold but tonight will be colder. This does not make me all that happy. I wish it would stay a bit warm for a bit longer.

    Have a great evening!

    1. Hi Kat!

He got sick fast and better fast 🙂 I really have no place to have the cat food but on the kitchen table. I can have it on the fire stove during summers but I don’t want the cats to jump up on the stove when it is hot during winters.

We’ve already lost all the flowers here as You understand. There are almost no colors left now besides the red on our homes. I am already longing for spring.

They predict warm wetaher and rain for next week, I’m not sure that is any better 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
