It is already too dark.

I didn’t bring any camera with me on our walk after work, it is now so dark that I would have to use the absolute highest ISO and those photos will be anything but sharp. It would have been a bit brighter if we hadn’t had all the clouds covering the sky though. Next week however that won’t help, we’re going back to normal time (or winter time as we call it), so it will be darkish already when I leave work.

I can see why I didn’t post these earlier, they are very grainy 🙂

It was actually quite nice when we walked though even if there was a slight drizzle falling but the wind was gone again. Wind can really make or break a day. It is quite nice on hot summer days but quite awful on cold winter days 🙂 but we haven’t had a real autumn storm yet, I don’t mind if we don’t get one but if it comes I usually like it. Especially since the wind mostly comes from west and those winds never reach my cottage, they are caught by my neighbors cottage and garage 🙂

I was looking for photographs I’ve saved to show today and to my big surprise I found an entire film taken with my Nikon F 401s that I haven’t shown here 🙂 I can see that I had started to make them smaller but never came any further. I also found a few from other older cameras that never made it to my blog. This is the time of year when I have to take a lot of photos during the weekends so I have something to show during the weeks, so these photos will be a nice addition that I can show every now and again.

All the animals have already gotten their food and as You know Albin is quite vocal when he waits for his food. Now Sune has started too 🙂 but he sounds very timid compared to Albin 🙂 He gives away some very high-pitched squeaks 🙂 Albin sounds as if he is going to attack something 🙂

  1. Hi Christer! Dark already! That’s ok – ours is creeping quickly too. By 6:30 p.m. now its definitely dusk. November 6th we change to daylight savings time. We “fall” back 1 hour. Not sure if it makes much of a difference but we sure do notice it in the spring when we lose an hour. I don’t like that.

You should get Albin on video! I love it when they “talk” to you. Sing babies, sing!!! 🙂

All sun here today and I think its around 8 degrees. We are due more rain for the next couple of days then it gets cool. As long as there is no rain or snow for Halloween I am happy! 🙂

    Have a good evening!!!

    1. Hi Dianna!

We’ll change time this coming weekend and that just makes it a bit lighter in the morning and just dark in the afternoon. Can’t say I’m looking forward too it.

Cloudy again here but they still say we will get sunny weather from Thursday till Saturday, now they say Sunday will be rainy and clody so I guess when Thursday comes we’ll get rainy and windy weather all weekend 🙂 I will however not complain until the snow starts to fall 🙂

      have a great day!

      Christer.

  2. Christer,
I hate it when the dark comes early. It will happen here soon enough when we turn the clock back.

When Gracie wants to eat, she sits and stares at me. If I don’t pay attention, she puts her head on my arm and stares at my face. It is difficult to ignore a dog with her head on your arm.

I was surprised how warm it is when I went to go do my errands. I brought Gracie. She knows the store where I buy her food and always expects dog treats when I get back to the car. She is never disappointed.

    Have a great evening!

    1. Hi Kat!

Before they changed my working hours so I stopped working at 5pm I did at least get to see the last of trhe daylight when I drove home. Ok I do start working later too but not late enough to see the daylight until I am at work. I really don’t like winter.

If they only sat and stared at me 🙂 Orvar was much like Gracie and if I didn’t react fast enough he put his entire weight into leaning towards me 🙂

It doesn’t feel that cold here either, especially when the wind doesn’t blow like today. Almost no store allows us to bring dogs with us here, not even pet shops. Some people just can’t stop their dogs to pee in there so it is easier to not allow dogs at all.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

    1. Hi Joyce!

I don’t think I would mind it being dark so much if I didn’t have to work. The only time I see daylight now is on the weekend and that’s just too little. I don’t mind that it is dark when I go to bed though 🙂

I used to have dogs that never begged, I guess I was stricter before 🙂

      Have a great day!

  4. Hi Christer,
Yes, we are coming into the dark time of the year. I don’t mind it so much now that I am retired because I can get outside in the daylight whenever I want. When I was working it was horrible. I never saw the sun until the weekend and that was only if there was any sun on the weekend.
Rocky is the one who gets noisy for his dinner. He doesn’t bark, though. He has this low, soft growl that stays deep in his chest. It’s so soft that it’s almost subliminal. It’s irritating as hell. By the time I realized that he’s doing it, all my buttons have been pushed and I have a difficult time not screaming WHAT?!?!? 🙂 He also does this when he wants me to take a toy away from Piki Dog and give it to him. It’s roughly the equivalent of that fake, whiney crying that spoiled little kids do when they can’t get their own way.

Today was excellent. The wind was blowing a bit too much but the sun was shining brightly and it was warm enough for a tee shirt. Well, for me. Others were in light jackets but I’m tough. 🙂 I drove up to Parker River Wildlife Sanctuary and drove through. Not much was happening there but I did see a Marsh Hawk. No photo because both times I saw him I was driving.
On the way out, I stopped in the visitors center to ask about buying a pass that would let me in to all the national parks. I was all set to pay eighty dollars a year for this pass when the ranger said if I was over 62 I could get a lifetime pass for ten dollars. Sometimes being old has advantages. 🙂

    Enjoy the day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t mind that much if I didn’t have to work either. Now I’ll only be able to see daylight during weekends and that’s just too little.
Albin has that kind of sound too but easily gets up to falsetto if he’s really hungry 🙂 Like Rocky he use it when he wants something from the others or can’t reach what ever it is he wants 🙂 It can be really annoying but still fun enough so I don’t want him to stop doing it 🙂

No wind today so it was quite nice outside when we were out walking.
It’s like when I drove home the other day taking photos of the road. I saw two moose but naturally in places where I couldn’t use the camera because of other cars on the road. I so wanted to just stop and take a few photos but the ones behind me wouldn’t have liked it 🙂 🙂

Yes there are advantages 🙂 I still have a few years until I can use them though.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
