Two lakes.

Photos were taken Sunday morning.

Nasty cold here this morning but I’ve seen through the windows at work that the day has been sunny. I saw by the lakes outside my cottage that the day also has been warm. I especially like the little lake by my gate which makes it impossible to go in and out of my garden without getting wet feet 🙂 🙂

You can see the older foot prints from me but the crust was so hard that I didn’t make any that morning.

I tried to dig away the snow so the water could run down into the ditch I have just beside the gate, that wasn’t a good idea at all because when I reached the dig the water started to flow towards my gate 🙂 🙂 Unless it gets really warm for a few days this will be my life, to get wet feel when I try to go in or out through my gate 🙂 The other lake is much bigger and I have to drive in it when I want to park my car. I can thankfully walk around it when I’ll let the dogs out from the dog house.

The meteorologists  say we most likely will have rather cold weather through the entire April, if we just get above 0C (32F) I won’t complain too much. I really want all this snow, ice and slush to go away. I have two chickens roasting in the oven and for once I can’t hear Albin saying anything!!! Really odd. He’s sleeping beside the radiator here in the kitchen and he does breathe so I know he hasn’t died 🙂 🙂 I’m pretty sure he will start as soon as I pick them out though, which will happen in about twenty minutes.

Four taken with the Nikon F75.

Have a great day!

  1. Hi Christer,
Wow, what a gorgeous morning Sunday was. I can’t pick a favorite. Too many really nice shots. I love that golden light. Some of it is almost lime green.

One of the blood orange seeds has poked up above the soil and seems to have a first leaf forming. Just in time for Spring Equinox. The other one had swelled a bit more and something white was sticking out so I planted it yesterday.

Another snow storm is heading this way for tomorrow. I have an appointment so I’m hoping it doesn’t get going until later in the day. Today was pretty good though cold. Lots of sun.

    Enjoy the evening.

    1. Hi Caryn!

It was despite it being so nasty cold 🙂 I have a few more that I’ll have in my post tomorrow.

Orange seeds are really good in germinating! Well all citrus fruits are the same. I now have Three tiny blood grapes and several clementine trees, I call them trees even if they are just two feet high 🙂

They say we might get the odd snow flake now and then but next Tuesday we’ll get over 4 inches. I doubt they are right since it is so many days away and they have problems guessing the weather we already have had 🙂 🙂 They also say next week will be cold again and I hope they’ll be just as wrong with that as they usually are 🙂

      Have a great day!

  2. this time of the years is so messy. winnie wouldn’t go out all day while it sleeted/rained but now the temps have dropped and we have snow on the ground so she is out for a walk! this might be our last snow until next fall. sad but everything is budding out and you just can’t stop mother nature!

    1. Hi Joyce!

Yes You’re so right. The ground is still frozen so it won’t let the water sink down but the top of the ground melts slightly so everything gets muddy 🙂 🙂

Still not much budding out here and they might just as well wait because they say next week will be really cold again.

      Have a great day!

  3. Hi Christer,
Your first picture is so beautiful. The color of the sky and the ice on the tree is breathtaking.

It does look cold. There is a sharpness to the light which comes mostly in the crisp air. The dogs seem to be enjoying themselves.

Gracie was sometimes so quiet when she was sleeping I used to check to make sure she was still breathing. I understand your concern about Albin given how much loves to bother you when he smells the chicken.

We’re getting more snow, just what weened.

    Have a great day!

    1. Hi Kat!

Too bad that it has to be soo cold to look like that 🙂 🙂

Yes chilly air, especially in the morning gives a sharpness to the light and I do like it. I would say the dogs have fun despite the snow 🙂 It is only Sune who truly likes it 🙂

Albin is never quiet, not even in his sleep, so that was why I had ti check him 🙂 🙂 He did sound quite a lot when I took out the chickens so everything went back to normal 🙂 🙂

It snowed here this morning but it all melted away during the day but more is on its way over here too.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

      Christer.
