Not what I wanted to see!

I have a few photos taken yesterday.

I woke up to a bright white world and became so depressed that I forgot to photograph it. It was around cm (two inches) and for a few minutes I wondered if I even should try to drive to work but I thought that I at least would try to get to the big road and if there was too much snow on it I would stay at home instead.

I knew he was somewhere working because I could see his big van and the horse carriage.
Albin went slightly insane seeing the horses and a human he absolutely must greet and he was so loud that we had to pass fast 🙂 🙂 So the mans face is blurred because I never got the chance to ask if I could post the photo here, the laws are very strict about that here.

The big road was looking as if it only had rained on it so I kept on driving. It was worse when I drove in to the forest again because it had snowed even more there but very few drive there so I could keep the speed I wanted without disturbing anyone or being disturbed. There was almost no snow at all at work but it has been snowing and raining all day.

The weather was so miserable when I came home so I decided I didn’t want to take a walk and the dogs agreed, they barely went out into the garden and not for long either. Now they are all sleeping either here in the kitchen (Albin because he loves the smells from the stove, I’m boiling chicken for him and minced meat for Nova) or in the living room. The cats aren’t that fuzzy about the weather though but I doubt they’ll go especially far.

From “for a rainy day”.

It is time to make something to eat for me too now, all the others have gotten their food. The weather sort of demands hot cocoa and cheese sandwiches so I better see if I have any cheese in my fridge 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Hi Christer,
Not snow! Argh. At least it wasn’t too bad driving to work.

I love the photographs of the horses in working harness. I would probably have been almost as excited as Albin, if I saw that in my forest. I’d want to drive. 🙂

Here the day dawned cold, damp and cloudy. We have a local election today so around noon I motivated myself to put the dogs in the jeep and go to vote. After that I drove to Newbury, 30 minutes up the highway, and bought some organic food and local meat. It was bloody windy and cold up there, too. But I took the dogs for a quick walk around the parking lot and a brief sniff at a chicken that seemed to want to join us.
On the way home the sky finally decided to rain. After I put the food away, I ran outside in the rain and threw grass seed down on most of the bare spots. It’s last fall’s seed so if it sprouts, it’s a plus. 🙂

    Enjoy the day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

It was so depressing to see it and later in the evening the hail started to fall for quite some time 🙂 The roads were awful this morning but the drive to work is a story for tomorrow if I remember it 🙂

I do wish that May will be a better month weather wise for us both 🙂 Wouldn’t it have been nice to have a chicken home with You 🙂

Grass seeds can germinate after a very long time as long as they haven’t been wet. So I’m pretty sure they’ll start growing and hopefully the rain didn’t wash them away 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  2. Hi Christer!

Yes, I know exactly how you felt seeing the snow. We got it quite bad on Monday but it didn’t last. We still have chilly temps but the snow melted. This weather is ridiculous.

I hope it went away fast for you and that you are now back to nice, proper days! 🙂

Love the picture of the horses!!!! Beautiful beasts!

Hope your cheese sandwiches were delicious!

    1. Hi Dianna!

Today the sun finally started to shine and the winds are reasonable calm 🙂 Still not especially warm though but I’ll take what I get 🙂 I do hope May brings better weather for us all!

Those horses are so beautiful and they work in the forest every now and again so I might get more photos of them.

      They weren’t too bad 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  3. After seeing thise first few lovely photos, Christer, it was hard to pictute how miserable you felt after seeing the snow, which I know yiu dislike. But we have had 3 days of rain here in VA where we returned this week to check on our still unsold house😕 the Frog & Penguinn is still ok but we surely wish it had new owners…lots of “tire kickers” and lookers in the past few months, but no contract signers.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

I should have taken a few photos when I woke up and perhaps a few on my way to work 🙂 I’m so glad it all melted away during the day.

I do hope that house of Yours will get sold this year! It is sad when a beautiful house like that is empty.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
