So now we have our competing song.

The weather is almost as great today as it was yesterday, a bit more cloudy and a weak wind is blowing. I could hear cranes trumpeting on our walks but none seemed to be up in the air so I could get a photo. The black Grousse roosters were trying to impress the hen and I could hear lots of doves in the forest. I could hear lots of larks too but they are so small and singing so high up in the air that it is hard to see them. I did get a photo of one though.

Albin has behaved very well lately but today he thought he should ignore me totally and by the look in his face he did think he would get away with it 🙂 He is now rather grumpy because he didn’t think he deserved to be leashed for the rest of the walk 🙂 What disturbed him most was that while being leashed he couldn’t take away the sticks Sune was chewing and Sune had lots of fun getting so close to Albin that he almost could reach them 🙂

The big final of the Swedish part of the Eurovision Song Contest was yesterday evening and I have to say that even if my favorite won the quality of the songs were even lower than normal. The song that won is very much inspired by Maroon 5, well as much as it can be since the song isn’t allowed to be longer than three minutes. The voting for the winner is in two parts, the swedish people can tele vote and then there’s an international jury with people from other competing countries who gives their votes ( both parts gives the same amount of points). We’ve been rather successful in the competition since we started with the international jury.

The thing is that there’s always a big risk that the one song that won the Swedish votes doesn’t win the entire competition and then people complains like crazy to the newspapers and that was what happened yesterday. The winner was only the third most popular with us Swedes but very popular amongst the international juries. The betting companies have now placed us amongst the ones they think will win the whole shebang (number three at the moment). I’ll post the video at the bottom so You can see and hear it.

It is time to start giving all the animals something to eat and after that I think we’ll go for a walk again, one never knows for how long we’ll have this nice weather.

Have a great day!

They later changed the word “fucking” to freaking since he would have been disqualified if he had kept it 🙂

  1. I don’t know your dogs’ names by heart yet, but that photo of the dog with the stick, what kind of dog is that? I’m seeing big ears right? Beautiful day, enjoy it!

    1. Hi Rain!

That is Sune, he’s half (what we call) English hunting cockerspaniel and half Bernese Mountain dog. An accident because his mother weighed 33lb and his father 119lb 🙂 So he’s rather low but rather wide 🙂

      Have a great day!

      1. I thought I saw Cocker Spaniel in Sune. We have a Cocker/Hound/Pointer mix we think! We adopted Jack when he was 9 years old, but has those long ears too. I post lots of photos on my blog of my dogs, we love them don’t we? 🙂

      2. He has thankfully the shorter ears that the hunting cockerspaniels have so very few problems there.

I can’t get to Your blog, wordpress says it doesn’t exist.

      3. The big problem I have with Jack’s ears is that he chews on them…he always has one ear in his mouth like it’s a toy or something. But that is a habit he had when we adopted him in 2015, he was 9 years old then, an old habit that we’re finding tough to break! He hides when we say “drop your ear” lol…very smart! But he gets soars on the ears, so I keep trying to persuade him there are more tasty things to chew than his ears…thanks for letting me know about the blog Christer, I’ll have to check that out. It’s http://www.rainfrances.com. I don’t really use WordPress, I’m on Blogger for now. I’m not too technically inclined, and I had to open a WordPress account to post comments on some of the blogs, I probably goofed up somewhere!!

      4. I guess that ear once itched and chewing on it helped and that’s tough to break 🙂

I don’t think You need to have a wordpress account to be able to comment, there are many that have blogger who comments here but I know that it can be tricky to comment on other sites, I can have huge problems with it on blogger for insteance.

  3. Hi Christer,
Not being able to grab sticks from one’s teasing brother is an unfortunate consequence of refusing to listen to one’s master. Life is tough, Albin. 🙂

The video from your link says it’s not available in my country. But I found it on YouTube. The song is okay. Is it strongly recommended that all the songs be catchy tunes that one can dance to?
I like the Australian song. Isaiah -It don’t Come Easy. Moldova was interesting, too. Yes, I went down the rabbit-hole of viewing Eurovision 2017 country song winners. I finally stopped at Yodel It. I’m not sure Yodel Rap should be a thing. 🙂

It’s just as sunny here as yesterday but a little less windy. It’s colder, though. A Boy Scout came to the door selling chocolate bars. I had enough real money in the house to buy one. Wish I could have bought more. Even chocolate is a tough sell when nobody wants to open their door and let in the cold.

    Enjoy the day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

He was grumpy all evening after that and Sune enjoyed every second he had to tease Albin 🙂

How odd because the link goes to Youtube 🙂
It all depends actually. If there are lots of ballads in the competition it’s good to have a catchy tuner. It can also help a lot if Your country has been invaded by Russia like last years winner from Ukraine. Lots of sympathy votes for that song and I still can’t understand that it won 🙂 🙂

I see that I need to take a look at the competitors on YouTube, I haven’t so far. Australia has participated twice so far and a fifth place is the badest they’ve gotten 🙂 They were actually much closer to win last year than we thought, it turns out that Denmark gave the wrong points 🙂 🙂 🙂 So Australia only lost with twelve points. Yodel rap sound awful 🙂 🙂 Now I really need to listen to it 🙂

Mostly cloudy here today but warmish and it’ll be muchthe same tomorrow they say. Scouts never sell anything here, it is mostly school kids selling cookies, candy or sausages who sell things to pay for a more expensive school trip.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

    1. Hi Joyce!

Not at all 🙂 and yes I’m pretty sure Sune knew 🙂 He knew exactly how close he could get with those sticks so that Albin couldn’t take them away from him 🙂

I’ve read about the snow storm earlier today but I have no idea how things went, I’ll go out on thge net later to see if I can find any info. I hope it comes to You too 🙂

      Have a great day!

  5. Not bad for an ESC song! We have a boring one again. To be honest I can’t even remember the song anymore, I just remember that it was boring. We could choose from about 10 songs, some were really bad and some singers looked young and nice and preferably blonde but couldn’t sing a simple melody. Just televoting, no so-called music experts this year so it’s completely our fault when we lose again 🙂 Good luck in May!

    1. Hi Birgit!

It isn’t that but I can’t for my life understand why he starts to sing behind the stage? I think they’ll change that to the semifinal. I must go to YouTube after this and listeb to the other competitors.

For once almost all singesr actually could sing here, very few off tones to be honest. We had one rapper thougfh who couldn’t hit a single one though 🙂 🙂 🙂 I mean how hard can it be when You more or less talk 🙂

      Thank You!

      Have a great day!

  6. Christer,
Poor Albin probably has no idea why he has been leashed. Dogs tend to overlook their bad behavior. Gracie barks at me when I tell her no, but in the end she does what I asked. She was just hoping I’d give in.

The rain is almost torrential now and the wind is unbelievably strong so the rain batters the windows. I can also hear the wind blowing. It is not a pretty day.

I’m going to have some soup. Today is the perfect day for soup.

    Enjoy the evening!

    1. Hi Kat!

Ohyes he did know 🙂 I actually had to go and get him and he knows tha’s a bad thing 🙂 He hadn’t had to be leahsed if he had started to walk towards me before I reached him 🙂

It would have been a perfect day here if it hadn’t been for the wind, they had a big storm in the most southern parts of the country today. They say it will calm down tonight.

Stormy and rainy days are perfect soup days 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
