I started this most important day of Christmas with putting the ham in the oven, I never came around to do that yesterday. I didn’t use the fire stove even if I normally would so so but it is just too warm outside today to use it. I don’t know why because I sure had plenty of time to do it 🙂 The ham is now for the second time in the oven to be breaded with egg, honey, mustard and breadcrumbs. Today Jultomten (the Yule gnome, our Santa) visit all the children handing out all the presents. I was terrified when he came so it was a huge relief the day I understood he wasn’t real but someone else just played him on Christmas eve.
The second thing I did was to open the package I got from Joyce 🙂 This year it had travelled over the ocean without anything being broken. I was very happy to see that Joyce remembered how much I like to go through those newspapers she usually place around the box to protect it from rough handling. This year it was bubble plastic that took care of that job but she had placed some newspapers at the bottom of the package 🙂 It is not so much the big news I like to read, it is those articles that show every day life that are interesting. Thank You once again Joyce!
We had quite nice weather here this morning and as soon as the sun was about to rise we went out for a long walk. The sun never really came out of the clouds but most of the clouds were tin enough to let the light through without too much struggle. I had dressed for strong winds when we went out on the fields but it was absolutely calm so instead I felt like I was boiling underneath that jacket and thick sweater 🙂 The second time we went out today I skipped the sweater and naturally it would have been a good thing to wear 🙂
The wind had started to blow really hard and half way out to the bog the rain started to fall, well pour actually and suddenly Albin refused to go anywhere 🙂 He just sat down by a big spruce and looked at us 🙂 We did finally make him move so we could go home. The fun thing is that as soon as we had come home and I had closed the door he immediately wanted to go outside again 🙂 The weather wasn’t any different but he was still outside for over ten minutes 🙂 Right now he hit the bells and I went to open the door and as soon as it was open he ran in to the livingroom instead 🙂 Right now he’s complaining about something but I’m not sure what it is, could be that he want’s a slice of that ham but it could also be because he’s bored 🙂
The ham is ready and now it’s only an hour before they show Donald Duck and his friends again. It is more or less the exact same program they have shown for over years now but we still sit down and watch it every Christmas 🙂 I better stop now because I still have a few sausages and meatballs to cook before I can sit down and watch Donald 🙂
Have a Very Merry Christmas or as we say here a Good Yule!
