He has finally understood we don’t like it :-)

We’re having a rather nice morning again but the sun has had problems finding the gaps between the clouds. The sky above me was clear blue but there were thick clouds with small gaps in between where the sun rose, sort of annoying 🙂 A bit too high humidity but that’ll sink during the day and they say that we’ll get a sunny day too. I’ll believe it when I see it.

That was a few exiting seconds before the clouds covered the sun again.

I mowed the entire garden yesterday because it was much easier than I thought it would be. The grass was at some places 30cm (12 inches long) and soaking wet but rather easy to mow anyway, it just clogged the mower a few times. Today I’ll mow what I have to outside my garden too. If they are right we won’t get any rain this coming week so with a bit of luck I won’t have to mow many more times this year.

Albin is finally calming down with the chewing. He has now realised that no one think it is fun. I hope he realizes that’s the reason the cats bite him hard too 🙂 He has several small wounds all over his head and ears after cat claws 🙂 Still, that cats doesn’t avoid him even if I can both see and hear how angry they get when he chew on them 🙂 I guess they understand that he’s just a puppy and that he will stop eventually.

The rest of the photos were taken yesterday afternoon.

It is time to make some breakfast, all the animals got their hours ago but I haven’t felt hungry so I thought why not wait until my brain actually tells me to eat, that doesn’t happen especially often 🙂

Our Puffballs are edible and rather tasty as long as they stay pure white. I've seen lots of them now so perhaps I shoupd pick som for a grilled mushroom and cheese sandwich (and a few other things on too perhaps :-) ).

  1. Hi Christer,
Albin is learning to be polite. 🙂 Cats are excellent at teaching that lesson. Just make sure they don’t also give him abscesses.
Piki Dog took a long time to figure it out. He probably didn’t get a chance to learn in the normal way if he was in a puppy mill situation. He was already a year old when I got him and he was very mouthy. Rocky would growl, whack Piki Dog with his teeth and walk away. I would yelp and stop playing but that didn’t seem to work. I resorted to shoving my hand sideways all the way into his mouth and keeping it there so he couldn’t close it. That worked. He’s still a little nippy now and then but he doesn’t bite anywhere near as hard.

I think our puffballs are edible, too, but I’d rather let them get brown and papery so I can tap them with my toe and make the spore cloud puff out. It’s more fun than eating them. No puffballs this year. Too dry.

Today is overcast, humid and cool. It even rained a little bit. Much better than yesterday. The windows are open and the AC is off.

    Enjoy the day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

Yes, pain is a good motivator 🙂 I do check himn every day so I won’t miss any infections.

I don’t think Sune would mind the biting that much if Albin didn’t hang in his fur 🙂 or in the harness on our walks. He does tell him to quite every now and again but he’s too kind. Albin tried the same with Nova, she’s not too kind though and I doubt he’ll do that again 🙂 🙂 I’ve noticed that it is enough with me snapping my fingers and point towards him to make him stop 🙂 Of course he’ll continue for a while but I think the worst is over now.

I like those mushrooms both ways 🙂 and we have lots of them this year. They didn’t need much rain to start but besides these and the toadstools we don’t have lots of mushrooms this year, it is too dry here too.

We had a rather nice day here and I did mow that last part so now I hope it won’t grow that much but I’m afraid it’s a bit too warm to start hoping 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  2. Christer,
Gracie used to chase Maddie and sometimes even pushed Maddie using her nose. She never bit either of the cats, and the cats whacked her without using claws. Poor Maddie has also been chased by Maggie. It just seems Fern is Alfa and won’t abide being chased. Now that Gracie is nearly 12, she only chases Maddie every now and then just for practice I think.

As the days gets older it is getting more humid. I may end up putting the air conditioner on.

I like your pictures from yesterday. It is nice to see the sun, sort of absent here and parts of the last few days.

    Enjoy your Sunday!!

    1. Hi Kat!

Albin has been bhiting everything that came in his way 🙂 but he does understand pretty well that he should stop and tries his best 🙂 I am surprised that the cats are so kind towards him, they could injur him rather badly if they so wanted.

I really can’t complain about the weather but I want either thick fog or sunshine, cloudy days are just boring 🙂

      Have a great day!

  3. Hi Christer! Oh yes, cats and puppies 🙂 Karma still annoys the cats some days and no amount of hissing and sometimes clawing when she gets too annoying will do. She does sometimes come away with a slice to her nose. She will figure it out sooner or later….can’t go on forever like this. At least I hope not!!!!! 🙂

I too hope the grass will start to slow down at some point. Although we don’t have alot and I don’t cut it, its still a pain in the behind. Although I do love the smell of fresh cut grass 🙂

Staining of fences still going strong although not now since I am at work. But hopefully this evening we will get to tackle it again.

They are predicting a low of +3 tonight with the chance of frost! I doubt we will see that in the city – but out of the city very likely. Unless the clouds that are here now stick around….

The picture of the red cottage with the trees behind it is very lovely!! Would make a nice picture 🙂

    Have a good evening!

    1. Hi Dianna!

He gets what he deserves so I really don’t feel sorry for him but I do check so the wounds don’t get infected. He does listen when I tell him to stop but he has a very short memory 🙂

Mowing the lawn is one of the ost boring chores there is 🙂 Still it isn’t that hard work if I do it every week but it is boooooring 🙂 My electric mower is so light as well so I can push it with one hand if I want to.

It is rather warm here at nights, even if the clouds are away. It goes down to 7C or so and that’s normal summer night temperatures here. I won’t mind a frosty night if it kills all the wasps that are still around though 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

Considering how much work You’ve put in to the wedding I’m surprised that You haven’t taken a long vacation 🙂

He gets what he deserves but I’ll keep an eye on those wounds just in case 🙂

Finally cooler nights! You would have loved this morning here, cool, sunny and foggy 🙂
