Fairly warm today.

We went down to the creek this morning. There's no use in following it down stream because they have put up the fence to the new sheep pasture so close to the creek that it is impossible to walk there at all now. A bit over grown after they took down all the trees.

It’s been up to 28,4C (83,1F) here today but clouds and some wind have arrived so the temperature has dropped a degree or two. They say we might get thunder and I have seen clouds building up to thunder clouds but it just doesn’t feel like it will happen. They flies aren’t even annoying, perhaps a bit irritating but nothing more. I really should have mowed the lawn today but 28,4 is just too much to move around in as it is 🙂

No fog to talk about today, I could see some mist but that was all.

I didn't take many photos this morning so the rest are from yesterday.

I went to the super market as soon as we had been on our walk and today several others had gotten the same idea. It felt really odd to not being there almost totally alone 🙂 I had found everything I wanted to find when I suddenly saw it, it looks like a tiny tennis racket, one put batteries in it and then one goes outside to play tennis with the flies 🙂 Every time one hit a fly it sounds like a corn pops and the world is freed from at least one fly 🙂 I had lots of fun this morning and suddenly there wasn’t a single fly around me 🙂 Big flies don’t pop though, they just die and it is the same with wasps but they sure smell bad after I’ve hit them.

Yesterday was much better fog wise. Even if I woke up a bit late we still had quite a lot of fog hanging around.

I have the kitchen door open and I can hear that it has started to drizzle some. I can’t see any thunder at all in Sweden on the live time lightning site though so I guess this is what we’ll get. The cold is still hanging around but I do feel much better even though I have very little energy. I get tired when we’re out walking and that never happens otherwise but I don’t cough during nights and my throat is almost back to normal again. The drizzling is now changing towards more normal rain and it is quite nice, mostly because the humidity is rather low, around 43%.

It’s raining more and more now so I better close the kitchen door, all animals are inside now because Teodor just came inside after sleeping beneath the lilac hedge. Nothing much to do today, I could of course do a lot if I wanted to,like cleaning out the garage after Sune and Nova have created a mess in there or I could clean the cottage too but I still have two more weeks with vacation so what’s the hurry 🙂 I will have more to do tomorrow though but more about that then.

I think it is time to make a pot of tea and then take a nap in front of the tv 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Hi Christer,
I was wondering when you would stumble across one of those bug zapper racquets. A friend of mine has had one for a few years now and she loves hers. One of her friends played with it so much one afternoon that the other ladies in the mahjong club had to tell her to stop. It was starting to smell rather bad inside.

The creek looks better than it did after all the trees were cut. I look at the photo and my first thought is TICKS. My second thought is snakes. My third thought is tripping over or into things I can’t see. The first and third thoughts are probably the most likely.

When you’re on vacation you don’t have to do things right away. It will be Saturday again tomorrow and you can do them then. Every vacation day is Saturday until you get to that end of vacation Sunday before the real world back to work Monday.

Enjoy your two weeks of Saturdays.

    1. Hi Caryn!

I did see them long ago in a store but after that only in catalogues and I never came around to order one. Yes it does smallrather natsy after a while (even outdoors) 🙂 🙂 I wonder if it was that smell which made all the other flies to flee?

The hunters had been down by the creek and cleaned up the area so it would have beenrisk free to walk there, when it comes to tripping on things 🙂 The ticks would however be plenty there and god knows what diseases they could give us and even though we do have one poisonous snake here it would most likely have crwaled away before we had come close. Humans rarely die from its bite but if a dog gets bitten in its feet or even worse in between toes they nrmally don’t make it because of the blood going straight to the heart. I’ve had two dogs bitten by it but in their lips, the had nasty swellings but since the blood takes its time to go anywhere they made it without problems.

You are so right 🙂 Every day is Saturday until the last Sunday 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

    1. Hi Joyce!

They sure do but it eats batteries. Worth it though 🙂 Finally I can have some fun while they are trying to make me insane 🙂 🙂

Much the same here but our heatwave is much cooler than Yours thankfully!

Have a great day despite the heat!

  3. Christer,
You have such wonderful ground fog pictures. I envy you as I haven’t seen fog lately. I think it has to do with my going out too late in the day.

The moths are still flying around and dive bombing me when I go out. They get fewer and fewer every day but I’m hoping they’ll be gone soon.

Today isn’t as cool as yesterday, but it is still a nice day. I’m thinking I won’t need air conditioning today either. I’m about to make my lunch and eat it on the deck. I bought some homegrown tomatoes and am thinking of a BLT.

I have nothing on my list for today so I’m just going to hang around. I may even take a nap.

    1. Hi Kat!

The only problem is that one must be up just before the sun rise to be able to see the fog, as soon as the sun stars to shine it usually evapot´rates fast. Cold mornings is also a must I think.

The ants swarm in the evenings now, I didn’t see what it was at first but thought it might be really big mosqitos 🙂 I’ve never been dive bombed by moths though, let us just hope Mothra doesn’t show up 🙂

Really warm even now after 6pm and the night will be warm too I’m afraid, I do like my cool mornings but that won’t hasppen as long as this heatwave stays.

I did take a short nap today, I set the alarm so I wouldn’t sleep for too long 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  4. Hi Christer! We are in the midst of a wretched heat wave. Yesterday was so hot – we reached 43 with the humidity and then we had a MASSIVE thunderstorm. It was really strong and fantastic (I like it when it storms). Today is hot but not as humid. I wish this would break. Everything is wilty and unhappy – including me! I love those fly raquet things – we have one at the lake and they do work quite well! You are on holidays – no need to do anything at all if you don’t want! 🙂 Love the foggy pictures today!!! Have a good evening!

    1. Hi Dianna!

Seems we’re having a heatwave on both sides of the ocean now but thankfully we have much lower humidity. The thunder passed south of us so we didn’t get much rain. I’m not complaining though 🙂

Yes that racket fly killer is rather good 🙂 but even outside the smell can be a bit too much 🙂 🙂 rather that than the flies though 🙂

Foggy and chilly morning here today but the cool weather won’t stay for long. They say we’ll reach at least 27C today.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
