I just had to buy it.

I’ve gotten my voice back, more or less anyway 🙂 I can almost sing along when I hear a song on the radio but I still have some problems with the highs and lows but I’m getting there 🙂 No coughing during night or at least not enough to wake me up so it feels like life has won over the cold 🙂 I can’t even pretend that I’ve liked the weather so far but it sure has been good for my cold, I have had to rest whether I wanted it or not.

 

The sweet cherries er ripe now. To be honest, sweet cherries are just sweet at the beginning, they have a rather bitter aftertaste but I still like them a lot.

We woke up at 4 today and went out into a rather chilly but sunny world, still a bit too warm for fog to be created but enough cold to keep most flies calm. Now the sky is cloudy but it is still a bit chilly outside, I tried to have the kitchen door open for a while but it just got too cold indoors. They say that this is how the weather will be for a while now, sunny and chilly mornings and cloudy and most likely rainy afternoons.

 

Yesterday I opened the fuse box and there was still one pretty angry but rather confused wasp living in the net. As soon as she had flown away I removed the old nest, they are actually quite beautiful. At the same time I realised a fuse was broken, so I replaced it. It didn’t take five seconds before it broke again. I changed again and the fuse broke. It is the one controlling the garage and I have been out there looking for eventual dead mice/ rats who have chewed on the cables but I couldn’t find anything. My guess is that it is one of the outdoor lamps that has shorted. I’ll take a deeper look into that later but I do want power there when winter arrives so I can turn on the radiator in the dog house.

 

I went to the super market this morning, I like going there before nineish because there’s usually no one else there at that time. There are lots of people there when they open at 7 but that’s workers who buy breakfast and/ or lunch there before going to work, after that it’s quite calm for a few hours. I did for once actually buy all things I wanted and after that I walked around to see if I could find anything else that tempted me enough to buy it, sadly to say there was very little that did. I did see a few dvd’s for sale but none I really wanted so I walked out to the plant department.

Everything out there was for sale but still very little tempted me. That is until I saw that they sold white currant bushes (well to call it a bush is to exaggerate a lot, it is more like a stick with two branches on it 🙂 ) they only cost 20 Swedish kronor which is around $ 2,3 US. I mean that is so cheap I really should have bought two but they are very easy to propagate so if I like the berries I can easily multiply tit myself. Now I’ll only have to find a place for it and I still have two small hazelnut bushes to find places for aswell.

Potato flower.

Another kind of potato flower. They can be quite beautiful, one year I had one with almost filled flowers. The ones I have now look more like Bittersweet (or as we call them Nightshade).

I used to have lots of Epiphyllum hybrids, now I only have one kind. I just leave them outdoors when the risk of frost is over and bring them in again in late summer before the frost returns.

I actually managed to mow half the lawn yesterday and the parts outside my garden too. The grass was really high and very wet  so I had to stop once every minute to get all the wet grass that clogged the mower but I did it 🙂 I di think for a while that I would take the rest too but thankfully it started to rain and it’s never a good thing to mow in rain with an electric mower, the cord was getting wet enough as it was in the cut wet grass. I think I’ll take the rest today but only if the strong winds continue to blow, otherwise the flies will annoy me to insanity 🙂

 

The Painted Lady, our migrating butterfly. I hope this was a female about to place its eggs before it would die. They can’t survive here so the ones coming up here to Scandinavia next summer are the descendants to the ones migrating south this autumn.

Nova waiting for me to stop eating raspberries, she was so bored having to wait all the time 🙂

It is time for a pot of tea and perhaps a sandwich too. I’m not that hungry to be honest, I’ve eaten lots of berries on our walks 🙂 but one can never get too much tea in the morning. It looks like the sun is peaking through the clouds again so I’ll make Sune happy by opening the kitchen door again. I’ve noticed that I have plenty of wasps nests beneath the tiles and just above the kitchen door but so far they’ve ignored us, thankfully 🙂

Sometimes sprouts break from the potatoes when they are put into the ground (or earlier of course). Those can actually be planted and give potatoes too. So I planted a few in pots and my old laundry bin 🙂 I hope I at least will get a few big potatoes from them.
